Is Universal 'out Disneying' Disney?

During our most recent visits to Orlando, the trips to Universal Studios have been right up there as the most memorable and enjoyable days of the holiday, and yet just a short while ago I had completely taken Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure off the itinerary.

Universal Studios may as well close. They should flatten it and turn it into a car park.

Disney clamps down on dining scams and touts... home run or own goal?

Disney regulars will be well aware of how difficult it can be to book some of the premium dining experiences, in particular 'Be Our Guest' in the castle, which is regularly booked solid six months in advance. Recently it seems to have come to light that this is down to ticket touts block booking every space at popular dining experiences, then re-selling them at a premium.

Duffy the Disney Bear leaving EPCOT

The days of Duffy the Disney Bear greeting guests at Epcot are numbered, Walt Disney World officials have confirmed.

Duffy has never really hit it off with Walt Disney World guests and so he's going to be replaced by Daisy Duck. The last day that the Duffy character will have meet and greet duties at his World Showcase stop will be Oct. 3.

The master of horror, Jack the Clown, has returned as the event’s ultimate icon, and he’s assembled the most maniacal myriad of monsters imaginable.

Disney World will break ground on Star Wars lands in 2016

After much speculation, Disney have announced that construction will start on Star Wars lands at both Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando and Disneyland in Anaheim, California, next year.

The groundbreaking dates were announced by Walt Disney Co. Chief Operating Officer Tom Staggs at an investors conference Thursday.

I-Drive Cinemark gets fancy seats

The Cinemark theatre at Artegon Marketplace, which opened in 2002, is getting $3 million renovation to bring it's seating up to the standards set by Disney's AMC 24 at Downtown Disney and the Cobb Plaza Cinema in downtown Orlando.

All but 4 of the theatres 24 screens is getting an upgrade, which includes recliners and leg rests, according to permits filed with the city of Orlando.
