Disney Plus To Launch Early In The UK
Disney Plus is set to launch early in the UK, with a 24th March release date set that will see the streaming service finally arrive to the UK, as well as the rest of Europe.
Disney Plus was released in the Netherlands, US, Canada and Australia in November last year, with its UK release date set to be March 31st. This has however been reviewed and the UK and Europe date brought forward by one week to March 24th.
It has been rumoured that the release date has been brought forward in order to combat piracy, especially that of “The Mandalorian”, the new Star Wars series featuring “Baby Yoda”.
This is also the first time the UK pricing has been confirmed, with a monthly rate of £5.99 or annual rate of £59.99.
That's roughly what was expected, and it means a Disney Plus subscription is less than the cheapest Netflix plan.
